How do I get my hair "SCENE" or "EMO" ???

I already have a layered haircut. I want to know how you get it to be poofed out and/or spikey. I was wondering what products to use to make it look a scene or emo style.

Flat iron will be a good friend if you want that style.

To get the basic poof, tease with either your fingers or a teasing comb (if you have one, great, if not, fingers work just fine). You jsut press the hair upwards and you'll see the poof and you spray it in place then poof again. Do that until you think it'll stay that way.

For spikes it's a little harder, it usually involves shorter layers where the spikes are. Like, it has the be cut that way more or less. Otherwise you can straighten outwards and hold it there, then spray it with hairspray.

if you dont want lots of back comb use backcomb in a bottle it will rock your face.... also you want to cut it a little shorter at the top and leave the bottom long that helps

i think the best way to get those kind of hairstyle is to choose one and take it to a salon to get it done for you. also ask them how to keep it that way!

to start out, let it grow out sweep it over to the side the more over your face the better, but for now if its buzz cut theres not much you can do till it grows a bit. if its about an inch or so go for the mohawk effect, or swept over to the side/ spiked at the back so you dont look too prep. but as long as you have the look and attitude to go with it, no matter what your hair looks like yuo'll be fine. try somethings and see what YOU like the best, hope it helps

pretty much any cut that is assymetrical and razor chopped is scene/emo. adding a bit of color and using some spiking techniques will make it punk. this is a very very very watered down explain of these labeled styles.

You could cut it into a sort of a bob. You know, have you seen Rihanna's hair lately? I know that sounds really stupid because you want to have an emo cut, but the way she cut it is very similar. With blonde hair, you could take one streak of brown and put it in the bangs and it would look totally awesome. My hair was like that for a while, and my hair was always at medium length.

oh and choppy basically means.. random un-neat layers!

warning you though, you will need to straighten your hair everyday with short choppy layers because when i used to have the whole "emo hair" i woke up every morning with my layers at a 90 degree angle. ahahahah!

and, emo/scene fashion is kind of going out now... so just think about it carefully!

so I'm getting my hair cut soon, and i want a bit of a change. So I'd really like my hair to look kinda scene-ish. i think foiling it with kalidacolors or Up to 7 with a toner of half 9N and half 9G in Shades EQ would be pretty. Do side bangs with razor slicing.

Firstly cut your hair into the choppy layers. Then dry it to make it volumous. to do this take a section of your hair and use a rounded brush [i don't know the technical term for the brush but its cylindrical in shape with bristles all around and a handle] under the sectioned hair. Put your hairdryer on top of the sectioned hair and pulling the brush upwards from your head and to the side, take the hairdryer along with it until you get to the bottom. Do this all the way around. Finally use the cool setting on your hairdryer, hold it so it is below your hair and point it upwards and dry. The cool setting makes your hair keep its shape for some reason. Smooth your hair down a bit and then its done. I hope that helps. xx

No I do not have wavy hair. My FRIEND *hint hint wink wink [;* *coughmandaxpandacough* would like some "scene" hair, but she has wavy hair. Some hairstyle that is "punky" but includes waves. A hairstyle that you would not need to straighten with a flat iron every morning and such.

it`s spiked only at tyhe back %26amp; a little at the top of your head. the long pieces of hair just kinda droop a little while the roots stand up so they stick out .

Well in order to style it like that you need to get it cut like that. It's obviously in layer and has been texturized. Take the picture to your local salon to get it cut similar.

Now on styling it, I would suggest maybe a pomade, wax, or spiking glue. And I'm sure he flat irons it first.

umm you just cut the first layers around the middle of the back of you head, and keep layering mainly around the face, until the bottom of the chin, then do one more at shoulder level, then the rest is just thin and regular down as long as it is, blowdrying can add volume, and volume shampoo and volume creams, and teasing it of course, root lift mousse, there are tonnes of ways to get the look if you have the layers

what colour is your hair? if its dark, get some Blonde-ish highlights. not aolt though just a few streaks. you also want it to be a bit long but not like an afro. if you have light hair...straighten it..sorry.

i really don't care about it that much . . i'm just curious. My hair is naturally a medium brown and late last year i got blonde highlights, but now i really want to dye it black or really dark brown, told my best friend and she said"emo much?" (though i think she was referring more to the cutting than the hair), but that's another story. Think people'll think i'm emo if i do? (btw no one else but her knows about the cutting, right now everyone pretty much thinks i'm normal)

If you ACT emo people will think you're emo no matter what color your hair is. If you want to color your hair black go for it, keep in mind if you change your mind after you've dyed your hair it can be a pain in the *** getting the color back to normal. I'd go for the darkest shade of brown before black. It will fade better if you change your mind.

id go for a dark brown, people will definitely call you emo even if its in a joking way. i have bangs that swoop and i recently died my hair dark brown but left it on too long so some parts were almost black and a lot of people called me emo. dont die it completely black because the roots will be too hard to take care of. a dark brown will make your hair shiny and can either be sexy or sophisticated

If you wear all black and then dye your hair black, it might look a bit emo but if you don't where black too much it might look kind of cute. Don't cut. You may think that you are just hurting yourself but you're hurting all the people around you! Your friend who knows about it is probably thinking, "I wish she wouldn't do this." I know, she probably told you to stop (if she's a good friend) but she's right, its actually kind of selfish to do this and not take how she feels about it into consideration. Well , I went through the exact same thing , I had brown hair with highlights and I wanted to dye it darker , but I didn' t cut . When I dyed my hair darker it was almost a black and I was coming out of a tomboy phase , so yea , I wasn ' t too into preppy colors . And thats when skinnies were in ( well , at my school anyways ) And yea , I got called emo , but only by some guys who I could honestly care less about, but after awhile I caught on and I came out of that phase %26amp;%26amp; no one thinks that I' m emo anymore . Just as long as you don' t dress in black , go for it ! Honestly , and if anyone says otherwise it doesn' t really matter what they think .

ok first wear your hear straight but messy, then you need to wear alot of eyeliner but don't become pale. emo girls wear tight clothes and usually skulls( that don't look scary). dog chain bracelets would be good and some fake piercings.

If you can get a black wig or some temporary/spray on black hair dye, this would be a good place to start! Whatever length your hair is, you should have a fringe that sweeps right across one of your eyes!

I'm not sure if going to an emo bar in 'emo' fancy dress is the best way for your mate to pull these guys... they might be a bit offended! But anyway, none of my business... lol!!

Get yourself to Primark and New Look for a cheap outfit. Some black skinny jeans or a mini skirt with footless tights will do the trick. Anything with polka dots, skull and crossbones or guns on it will work! Leopard accessories are also a bonus. Have a look on ebay for some of this stuff, as you'll get it dirt cheap! In fact, just type 'emo' into eBay and you'll get everything you need, lol!

For the shoes, flats like ballet shoes or canvas pumps will be cool - especially if you can find some Vans rip offs (New Look sell black and white checked canvas shoes that would be perfect).

Dark eyeliner is also an essential.

Straighten your bangs over your face, usually to the right so they're literally sweeping. And for the rest, don't straighten it in a downwards direction, instead, straighten them outwards (make sense? i hope so x_x).

After that, you can pretty much use hairspray (never use gel for this look, it ruins it and it's too heavy) to get volume or to keep your hair flat. Also, if you have long-ish hair, try to straighten it so it's covering the back of your neck.

Well, Emo-ish. Um, I'm not really emo, but I can help you out. Take a hair straightener or crimper and plug it in. Turn it on, and put it on TURBO if possible. After that, get some hairspray that is meant to hold straight hair and stop frizzing and spray it on your hands. Gently apply it to your hair in a "feathery" kind of motion so you're kind of spiking it up a bit. Then, straighten your hair, but straighten it outwards, and do the same thing with the hairspray again. Works best with short hair.

when you bleach hair repetitievely, it become severely damaged and may get a "frixzzy" look. Bleaching is a big commitment, and you will need frequent touch-ups. Look for a professional to do the job; i have seen way too many people who end up with what looks like a white afro after a bad at-home dye job.

If your hair has been colored before, it will make your hair look really damaged, and that causes frizz and mass split ends. try not to leave the bleach on too long or it will start to fall out. also, be carefull brushing after you bleach as alot of hair will break off.

As for what you can do is maybe compromise with mom. Your hair doesn't have to be black and short, it can be long and any number of colors (don't do the harsh primary colors because the metal in the dies are really bad for your hair.) What about carrot top orange and short? Talk to your mom. You might be surprised what she might agree to.
