i dont know how to get that choppy, messy look when i style my hair, every time i put gel and stuff in it, it looks shiny and hard and not-emoish, if i could say it that way. any good products or teniques???

darkmorning1 here what better way then to talk to a emo. and That would be me..no am not a bird.. hola btw its a haircut and a style yim sometime i tell yea whats it about. its pretty cheap looks Sweet and yes youdo need a bit of gel afterwards

Okidokie, I'm gunna try to help as much as possible:

I think what you want is a razor cut. A razor cut is that choppy cut you want, I believe. Now, I don't advize that you cut it yourself but you ask someone with more experience to do it for you.

And to do that, you need to get some hair from the top of your head and cut it a bit short. About 1-4 inches should be enough hair up there.

Then you get a comb and "tease" your hair, which is basically back combing your hair really quickly.

And make sure to put on lots of hairspray to keep the hold. And of course angle your bangs to the side!

Voila! Emo hair :D

Well yur probably using too much. Try rubbing some on your hands, then messing up yur hair.

ppl HATE emo ppl AND they LOVE to make fun of their hair.

plus i don't suggest u cut it urself, maybe look up the design online and take it to the hair cutters place.

if ur hair is short just wake up run ur fingers through it a little, then shake ur head. (beadhead!!!)

or just cut it funky and layer it. Something that doesn't scream I spent 2 hours this morning trying to be emo...basically just work wat ever you got! =)
