How does the hair of a emo boy in a band always return to it's natural state?

Like, in most emo boy bands -- or any hardcore band really -- the members will like thrash their heads forward/back/sideways whatever, and it always seems to return back to it's natural state, like what do they use to hold it in place? And why is the hair always so slick/shiny looking?

most emos use gel/ hairspray to hold it in place

or like salon brand stuff to keep it in place like bed head, catwalk ect. the shinnyness could come from not taking a shower for a couple of days or most emo kids put baby oil in there hair.

im not sure but i love emo boy hair. i dont like that hair/people are labled but i love it. awesome hair on the guy below. :)
